The Chapbook

Heaviness

  • rage
  • love
  • race & colonization

I always feel it most at nightWhen I’m with my loverOur skin pressing against each otherI feel it thereThe heavinessThe weightIn the safety of their armsI feel the heaviness ofMy colonizationThe scars of oppressionsurfaceAs I take off my armorThe rage and the painThat I carry with me all dayI can finally put downI can finally expressI can finally claim as my own.
